This could have easily been avoided if MC had been properly managed and not allowed to roam around by himself. He should have recognized that humans are complicated and allowed himself time to grow and learn.

I disagree with you on that one.
He can’t just allow himself time to learn and grow, first, because that typically comes from actual achievements and experiences with messing up. Second, because the capital was basically on life support. There’s not much for military to do government stuff like police the land for crimes or collect taxes or anything else, the monarchy was just overthrown, and it’s not like the duchess could handle all that, her forces are too small and in the background she’s already dealing with problems on full blast without break. Also to the people this would make a lot of sense that he’d do the decision making because… he is kinda the guy who overthrew the old ruler, afterall… If he didn’t at least try to do something, things may have fallen apart on their own.
Heck, with news of the king’s vacancy and no power at play, it’s possible that nobles or insurrectionist could try to rebel to secure power through sival-wars, all aiming to be the new guy in charge. Cuz who’s gonna stop em’? The king’s army?

It’s been a while since my original post and I haven’t kept up with the story. However, though learning from your mistakes is important, learning from others mistakes is better…that’s why we study history and learn from those who came before us or those more skilled than us…the Undead is a good fighter with a good heart but has no idea how to rule human society…
The human girl shoulda coulda wouda managed him better… She should have helped him realized a paladin’s role is to serve as a guardian, not as an authoritarian that makes the rules… If som noble or insurrectionists steps up by all means the undead paladin should defend against them, but it should have been the humans striving to better human society…
but we can agree to disagree…the undead MC is just a child, so his immaturity is expected.
