I think I’d be pretty timid if I died and then was faced with a notification that I would die if I didn’t successfully debut as an Idol. It’s not as simple as just doing it. Office politics are little talked about, but they exist and can make or break a person’s career before it even begins.
Something as simple as a higher up deciding you’re ‘not respectful enough’ can ruin you before you even get to set your foot in the door. Even with no growth limits the protagonist is kind of screwed unless they get lucky or are secretly a social savant or something.
Of course I’m somewhat just hyping it up, but the industry is toxic and will chew people up and spit them out even if they do everything right. Something as simple as being seen holding hands with someone of the opposite gender can ruin you.
Of course male idols have an easier time and are their fans are more forgiving in a lot of cases. But their fans are also more unhinged.
