      Those were also my exact words. The ending was so anti-climactic I was just stunned. Then it gave the impression the mc was gonna return, and we get the end. Like wtf.

   If you all forgot he had a key of tower and in that tower after fulfilling some requirements or clearing floors grant you a wish that can bring back dead and the girl have a target to go in there and she might revive him and this may be end of season 1
