She could be saving all the gems that the Duke buys her to fund an independent life, but no, she worries about being penniless. She keeps pushing her brother to a man he has made it clear he doesn’t like and repeats that she likes him in front of her brother and she didn’t mention her uncle or the prince, that she knew were part of her kidnapping plot, because she ‘wasn’t sure’? She’s like a mindless puppet who won’t even tell her ‘father’ she doesn’t want to marry, and now he’s going to find her a husband and she says nothing because the plot, I guess. It’s kinda infuriating to read this honestly. Even the hawk pet saw something strange but nobody ever tells anyone anything useful and on the rare occasion they do, it goes over their heads.
