I do think she is being a touch dramatic: calling him friend and feeIing her trust is broken. But just because she was wary of him doesnt mean they didnt connect. Maybe what she meant is she FELT they could have BECOME friends — and I think after a few more meetings, I think they could have been too.

Why the **** did I waste 3 hours of my sleep on this bull****. If you liked her just say so, don’t keep the dense idiot in a state of contant fear and anxiousness. If this was in real life she probably would have gotten a heart attack due to the stress her body was going through. If you want to run away which isn’t the best option in the first place but now that you have made that choice be fully committed. Don’t wash away the efforts of the people who gelped you. If he was not the ML and was actually true to his personality he probably would have imprisoned if not executed those who helped her escape.
