Unfortunately we all know how this kind of story plays out, the heroes never stop the villain from breaking the seal. At a minimum nothing they do will stop the unsealing, even killing the villain they somehow turn their death into a way to break the seal.

I really hate this deal because it’s so common, just once I’d like to see them beat down or kill the guy, the seal’s never messed with and they save the day without having the villain getting to go ‘ah but everything you’ve done I’ve already prepared for so nothing can stop my fiendish plan!’
