Wow. I mean, even without this Deus ex machina Robelia would still be getting what she wants (public slander), while Alexandria would still fix it, for example express how outrageous he finds it that the empress’s attempts to blah-blah-blah (something about improvement of level of life, right to grant freedom to slaves etc.) are being seen the way they are, up to and including pronouncing slavery illegal. However, to get in so deep so fast, dear consort is really out of luck.

Gotta love how according to the current Robelia, in the original plot the consort freed at least some slaves, since the magician boy was on her side, and likely she did it just because she could and as a resident of our world she understood how wrong slavery was, even if she probably ultimately used it for her reputation – though she did not need to, in original, so could be she really did it out of compassion.
And yet here, with her position threatened, she is ready to make everyone despise them. Funny what humans would do once pressured~
