While it is odd they censored her ‘ugly’ face, there could be a reason they did it to avoid further anger. If they had made her face full of the stereotypes of ‘ugliness’, people would have hated in the artist even more, saying that they made her ugly merely based on standards. I’ve never read the novel, but it could also just simply be that the org writer didn’t describe her ugly appearance, and just crating one based on assumption/imagination could be a bad risk
