because that is the “social class” that 90 to 95%% of the Chinese can relate to, if every MC was a super godly OP character from a super absurdly rich and powerful family, the stories would crumble and crash, as NO ONE would relate to such a person, especially in china.
with regard with the girl, that’s just because the author is likely a teenager, with little to no experience with girls other than what he reads in other novels and comics. so the girl is not just in the military, her family’s “social class” is far higher than his, so he’s got only 2 ways of dealing with it, either he bends over (and picks the soap), or he gets fuckd by her family
