   Despite the replies, I have to say some 12 years do in fact look like this. I did when I was a 12 year old, chubby cheeks and was pretty short. I think people forget that a 12 year old is a pre-teen. They’re still considered a young child, and depicted her childiness perfectly unlike some of the others where the child has sharp chins, perfect facial features. Not possible for a child which is still developing.
   As for saying her behaviour is so child like, let me correct you:
   this is her first time seeing her dad after seeing him die all those years ago. You would miss a parent you care about right? Especially after they died. You get a new chance so see them again, wouldn’t you feel like this too? “Oh I wouldn’t” you would. You care about them, so you would. Mentally a grown woman? To him, she’s his baby, to her he’s her father, someone who she misses dearly. If you don’t feel like this, either your parents didn’t treat you well or you’re very ungrateful person.
