The consort isn’t “real” (as in real inside the universe of the story) , it is a meta person, that thinks she is real, but only existed in the books. The MC on the other hand is real (again inside the universe of the story), and is more akin to a god then anything.
I might actually make a proper analyses on how the main character is written in this type of story. They are pretty much gods , or semi divine, yet tend to think of themselves as just another person. It could be interesting, sprinkled with some philosophy, and a take on what it actually means to be human (Cogito ergo sum).
