If I was MC, I would keep enemy talking while the insects continue devouring him for a bit longer that they he is weaker before finally attacking and killing the enemy, instead of provoking him to attack and leaving.
I would be like “what are you talking about? what guarantees do I have? Stop talking nonsense and talk quickly if you don’t want to be devoured? Wait now you are talking too quickly I can’t understand what you are saying talk a little bit slower.” 🤣

It’s unfortunate that MC trusted this guy and not prepare ahead of time. The lesson I’m taking from this is if I was MC in a similar situation I would do 2 things to prepare:
1. as someone with space abilities I would create space nodes that the Star Boundary energy can travel through more easily and quickly in case you need them.
2. with such weird meetings that seems sketchy always bring at least two strong helpers to surround place, not too far, but not too close either, at same time to also block off exits. Kind of like what cops do surrounding criminals.

That’s so stupid! I can’t think of any reason besides for this story as to why something like the ink clan would be kept a secret…
And because of that this story is, IMO, going downhill…
Reasons why its stupid:
1. didn’t the elder from that paradise place that attacked MC get infected?
2. if the Heavens and Paradise cave have method to block or fight against corrosion, why not pass that knowledge to everyone? (basically rather let everyone suffer for self interest, which is why its stupid).
