Girl… it looks like you were the one who kept away from him first… from what we’ve seen, she turned away from him on the wedding night, and never made an attempt to talk to him and just followed him from behind. He was mistreated and abused growing up, so it’s likely he thought she either disliked him, as most people in his life had, or was afraid of him, and tried to keep a distance except on those mandatory nights. Is it also partly his fault for the miscommunication? Yes. But just with this chapter even, we can see she didn’t help.
