I feel so bad for him! I know Leoni had it hard in her past life, but even from the beginning of their marriage in the past life she seemed to show no understanding of him or tried to reach out to him at all. Is he also to blame for the misunderstandings? Once again, yes, because he never explained himself. But still, the times we’ve seen he came to her she shut him down before anything could be said, and unlike in this life he wasn’t rescued from the abuse and has been at war. He’s full of trauma and and probably self-contempt, and most likely believes she’s happier to stay away from him after all she’s been through. It was the wrong choice, but it was him trying to be considerate, and he did care about her.
(Obviously saying this completely based on what we’ve been shown so far so things may eventually differ, but baby Rutger doesn’t deserve this imo)
